There is more to Perisher than just skiing and boarding – the Perisher tube town is now open! We all know and love tobogganing but we think tubing is even more fun! This is the ultimate family activity especially if you are all keen to go to the snow but don’t want to ski or board. You don’t even have to climb up the hill after sliding down, just put your feet up and be towed all the way, to do it all again. Go up, take a Go Pro and you’re guaranteed a serious amount of giggles with no skills or lessons required.
The best way to access Perisher’s Tube Town is by Skitube, Australia’s only Alpine Railway. Simply drive to Bullocks Flat located below the snow line, which means you generally don’t need to worry about fitting chains to your car. It has plenty of free parking and is a short 20km drive from Jindabyne. Your Skitube ticket includes the National Parks entry fee. And who doesn’t love a train! The views along the way are so unique, the train trip itself is a treat.
Seeing the Snowy Mountains in full swing is really exciting, you shouldn’t miss out if skiing or boarding doesn’t appeal to you.
Tickets can be purchased at the ski tube, you don’t need to go to the main building. The prices are:
